2013 Songs

When I was born I cried louder than the other babies.
My voice had a detectable ping.
Nurses from each of their respective wards
Heard every echo of my vocal chords
I guess that’s when I started to sing.
When I was 12 I sang louder than the other students.
I never could be one with the group.
All of my teachers tried to tone me down.
Why would a swimmer volunteer to drown?
I trill, I flutter, I scoop.
I stand out like a candy cane in a bowl of chicken soup.
